Molecular epidemiology of Campylobacter jejuni isolates from the broiler production chain: first report of MLST profiles in Argentina

چکیده

Campylobacter jejuni is an important foodborne pathogen with global distribution. We describe a genotyping study of collection C. (n = 137) isolated from different broiler farms and multiple sites along the processing line in slaughterhouse Argentina during 2011, 2012 2015. The isolates were genotyped using pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) multilocus sequence typing (MLST). Based on PFGE results, grouped into 26 pulsotypes. Subsequently, representing these pulsotypes chosen for MLST genotyping, which identified 16 types (STs) 6 clonal complexes (CCs) (21, 45, 48, 353, 354, 446). Several STs 7) have not been previously reported PubMLST.org database. most prevalent CCs 21, 45 (both associated human campylobacteriosis worldwide) 353. Molecular epidemiology of Campylobacter jejuni isolates from wild-bird fecal material in children's playgrounds.

In many countries relatively high notification rates of campylobacteriosis are observed in children under 5 years of age. Few studies have considered the role that environmental exposure plays in the epidemiology of these cases. Wild birds inhabit parks and playgrounds and are recognized carriers of Campylobacter, and young children are at greater risk of ingesting infective material due to the...

Detection and Molecular Characterization of Chicken Astrovirus from Broiler Flocks in Iran: The First Report

Background and Aims: Enteric diseases have had detrimental impacts on commercial poultry through depressing growth rates and caused considerable economic losses to poultry producers. Chicken astrovirus (CAstV) is one of the most common viruses related to enteric diseases in chickens, especially in young chicks. Materials and Methods: Chicken astroviruses were detected by reverse transcriptase ...

Antimicrobial susceptibility profiles and molecular typing of Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli isolates from ducks in South Korea.

Campylobacter is a food-borne zoonotic pathogen that causes human gastroenteritis worldwide. Campylobacter bacteria are commensal in the intestines of many food production animals, including ducks and chickens. The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence of Campylobacter species in domestic ducks, and the agar dilution method was used to determine resistance of the isolates to ei...

Genomic variability among isolates of Campylobacter jejuni from broiler flocks in the Czech Republic

The bacterium Campylobacter jejuni naturally colonizes the gastrointestinal tract of many birds and animals, resulting in a harmless commensal relationship, but this microbe can also promote pathogenesis in humans, resulting in a productive gastroenteritis leading to a mild bloody diarrhoeal syndrome. Consumption or handling of poultry meats is prevalent source of. C. jejuni for infection in hu...

Detection of cytolethal distending toxin (cdt) Genes in Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli isolated from the intestinal of commercial broiler chickens, turkey and quail of Iran

Background: Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli are zoonotic bacteria which are frequently associated with human diarrhea. Sharing of the cytolethal distending toxin (cdt) genes in Campylobacter is common and is considered species specific. OBJECTIVES: In this study we focused on detecting the presence of cdt gene in C. jejuni and C. coli isolated from broilers, turkeys and quails of Ir...
